Welcome to Walden in Transition and Green Energy UK’s Low Carbon Affiliation Scheme (LoCAS) – a partnership to encourage low carbon lifestyles
Walden in Transition (WiT) has entered into a partnership with Green Energy UK to encourage more people to use renewable energy and so reduce their carbon footprint.
Members and supporters of WiT, residing in the Saffron Walden area (postcodes CB10, CB11 and CB21, Chrishall and Thaxted) who switch to Green Energy through WiT will receive:
• a 10% discount on the standard unit/kWh rate of Green Energy UK’s 100% renewable Deep Green tariff
• 400 shares to start (first 100,000 customers only) and the possibility to earn a 1,000 more if you get 5 extra customers to join
• and, if you are home generator, payments under the Feed-In Tariff system
WiT will receive a 5% rebate to assist it increase local energy self sufficiency and carbon dioxide reduction. Payments will be made quarterly and posted on the WiT website.
By using Green Energy UK as your energy supplier, you will be supporting small power generators and emerging technologies, as well as reducing your carbon footprint. You will also assist WiT help make Saffron Walden and the surrounding villages more sustainable and resilient. No one from WiT will visit or phone your home.
